M.C. Gallastegui (Brown University, 1979, Ph.D. in Economics). Currently, she is Professor of Economics at the UPV/EHU and Vice-President of the Spanish Association of Energy Economists. She has contributed extensively to Public Economics and Environmental and Resource Economics. Over the past five years, she has been partner in major European R&D projects such as ELME and PECHDEV. In 2005 she was awarded both the Euskadi Prize for Research in Social Sciences and Humanities and the Spanish National Prize for Research in Environmental Economics. She is former Minister of Economic Affairs of the Basque Government.
